Dream it.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Build it.

Grow it.

We hope to inspire people to design and build new living spaces that help all of us live with a lighter footprint on the environment.
Our Vision
We want to create a paradigm shift in the way homes and communities are built by putting people at the heart of the process by empowering them, to take an active role in the design and build of their homes.
We also want to enable you to create a home that you love, that you can afford, and one that has a positive impact on the environment.
Our Mission
To build homes in the community that go beyond, and raise, building regulation standards.
To adhere to ecological sustainability. We prioritise use of natural, re-usable, recyclable or biodegradable materials and include renewable energy generation in every home.
To make our projects zero waste. We recognise that the construction industry is traditionally a high consumer of virgin resources and large producer of needless waste. We want to help bring an end to wasteful conventional build processes.
Our Values
Plug and play - our homes are designed to be user friendly to self builders and residents and easy to add new elements to or adapt over time.
Skilling up - our training programme empowers residents to play a role in completing their home, learning new skills and building self-confidence along the way
Stronger together - we provide support to SNUG group projects to help establish an active sense of community
Community Involvement and Social Value
We have a detailed design process that includes local community members, prospective residents and other stakeholders.
Flexibility of the SNUG build method allows for participation and involvement.
Residents of our homes are able to earn ‘Sweat Equity’ in their homes through our self-finish process.
We will provide support for people to build their own home, learn new skills, create new jobs and forge a strong community.
SNUG Homes recruitment prioritises local people not in employment, education or training, including previous SNUG Homes volunteers.
Training volunteers is an integral part of SNUG Homes model, which aims to tackle social isolation and increase employability of local people through providing first-hand experience of construction and team-working.
Our work at Wordsworth Centre in Lockleaze since 2019 has demonstrated successful local engagement, volunteering and interest in self-build, adding social value.
